FIELD EXPERIENCES
For almost 20 years, Stephane Herbert has produced a body of work on different countries and civilizations. He has travelled extensively in the Islamic East and the Americas. During a four month cross border journey from Tajikistan to Pakistan, he was among the first to photograph the afghan city of Herat after the war. In Guatemala, Stephane was delighted with the colours used by the Mayas and started reflecting colours with great passion in his work. Focused on various stories going from the truffle land of Périgord in France to the pilot’s route of the Saint Lawrence River in Canada, he was also involved in assignments such as Budapest and Rome. During the last few years, he was in Brazil where he made a series of images to capture the spirit of the afro-brazilian culture in Bahia (Capoeira-Candomblé-Carnaval). After meeting the great architects Lucio Costa and Oscar Niemeyer, he worked on several occasions in Brasilia. In order to continue his research on modern heritage, he was recently in India for a feature on Chandigarh, the town planned by Le Corbusier.

PUBLICATIONS & EXHIBITIONS
His images have appeared in magazines including Geo and Grands Reportages (France), Hors Ligne (Switzerland), Alisei (Italy) and Equinox (Canada). Stephane’s work has been widely displayed through more than 30 exhibitions and slideshows in places such as Unesco in Paris, Espaço 508 in Brazilia, Alliance Française in India and Japan. He has contributed to books on architecture of the XXth century published by the french heritage institute Caisse Nationale des Monuments Historiques. His contribution to the book "Brasilia - l’épanouissement d’une capitale" published by Picard Editions, presents the city scales and the lifestyle of the brazilian capital.

DISTRIBUTIONS
His photo-reportages and articles are featured for the Globe Vision organization and distributed worldwide by the Corbis-Sygma agency. A regular contributor of BDDP & Textuel Unlimited, he shoots for numerous corporates and consumers publications. Each year he covers the regattas of the Caribbean for Swan and his pictures are internationally published in Swan’s ads.
